San Antonio's Best Motorcycle Community On The Net!Please register on the site to have access to all the interactive items! This network is not limited to only sportbikers. If you ride a cruiser, cafe racer, tourer, scooter, moped, or even a bicycle, you are more than welcome here! Purpose / Scope SASBN was formed to attract like-minded people who enjoy “spirited” back road riding, trackdays and legal racing in a responsible, mature manner, with consideration to the general public as well as our fellow motorcyclists. This network is also about building genuine friendships both on and off the website. We welcome new riders with open arms as well. The Message Board: This is a private message board and we expect anyone who has been granted access to it to respect the scope of content that we have laid out, not doing so could result in immediate rescinding of access at the discretion of any SASBN moderator. Conduct: Conduct should be civil, respectful and considerate. SASBN differs significantly from the culture seen on many worldwide message boards where one can hide behind relative anonymity and act out whatever fantasy persona they can dream up. Basically we expect everyone to treat each other on the message board in the same manner they would in person - and watch the crude humor, as sometimes it is hard to tell if it's sarcasm or real, when it's presented in just text. Content: The content of the posts on this message board is monitored carefully to ensure that it is generally “work safe” and fairly family oriented. With this in mind, we strictly prohibit pornography, images depicting excessive violence and other tasteless material. This includes avatars and signatures. Out of Scope Content: If you are looking for a forum to brag about your standup wheelie all the way around Loop 410, illegal drag racing, insurance scams, or how you out-ran the police last weekend, this is not the place for you. We feel this type of activity is not consistant with the idea of promoting a positive image of sportbikes and encouraging consideration and respect for fellow riders and the general public. We feel the public’s opinion of motorcyclists is very important. It has significant influence on insurance rates, legislation, law enforcement, etc. This is not to say that stunting in the right setting wouldn’t be just as wholesome as any other aspect of riding but just to keep things simple, we have made the decision to keep the subject off our message board. Likewise we do not allow promotions, advertisements or invitations to events, groups or gatherings that do not keep with the spirit of this idea. Trust us when we say that there isn’t an argument we haven’t heard on the subject. Chances are that any point you’d care to make has been discussed at great length and frankly, grown quite old to the members of SASBN that have been around a while. Conclusion: If you like what you have read, welcome to SASBN! You are sure to find a wealth of knowledge here, lots of fun social events, great rides and most importantly, good friends. If you have decided the scope of this group does not suit you, we are sure that you will be able to find a good home elsewhere. Good luck in whatever you do. - In connection with Houston Sportbike Network Mat Ryan SASBN Founder |
